Broadway calling Bowie
Associated Press

Rocker David Bowie recently told an interviewer that he wants to stage a play based on his songs, following in the footsteps of Billy Joel ("Movin Out"), ABBA ("Mamma Mia!"), and The Who ("Tommy"), according to the New York Post. "I am reaching an age where all I really want to do at the moment is interpret my songs," Bowie said. "I may turn back to the theatre."

Bowie acted on the stage in the '60s and recorded a rock opera in 1974. "Diamond Dogs" was inspired by George Orwell's novel, "1984."
